Tradition and Signs of the Four Species

Question

According to Halacha, is there any preference for having already used variations of arba minim species with a mesorah of being used, even if a newly discovered variation otherwise has kosher signs? Do any poskim hold this?

    I am not sure that I understand correctly what you are asking. But if the Poskim rule that a particular specie of one of the Arbah Minim is kosher for use, then I do not think that it would be considered “less kosher” than another specie that has always been considered to be kosher.
