The Two Goats: Atonement
did the sacrifice on the day of atonement pay for the sins of the next year or how did it work
In Leviticus 16 :7-10
there were two goats
1 for the Lord and the other was the scape goat what were the two different type of scrafices made by these goats as far as sin in concerned
was 1 for present and other for future
or 1 for past and other for future
please explain why there were 2 goats in this part of the atonment
Answers
The sacrifice of the two goats on the Day of Atonement achieved forgiveness for the sins of the previous year. They were not an atonement for the coming year.
