Answers
if the medication can be taken without water or food then on Fast days other than Yom Kippur there is absolutely no problem. If the medication is vital then it can be taken even if it requires water to get it down. On Yom Kippur the person’s doctor must be consulted first to see if the person can manage without the medication for twenty five hours. If the doctor is of the opinion that the person must take it on Yom Kippur and it can only be taken with water then a local Orthodox Rabbi who is an expert in the Laws of Fasting should be consulted to find out the best way that the medication can be taken on Yom Kipuur itself.
