How would I find out which tribe of Israel I belong to?

    Good question! For most people the question is really moot because there is no way of knowing. If a person is a Kohen or a Levi, there is no question as to which Tribe they belong to, but for everyone else it is almost impossible to know unless you have a family tree that takes you back to a famous personality in Jewish history. Very often, the renowned scholars had family trees of their own, and then it is often possible to trace one’s roots backwards to an original Tribe.
