Do people of the Jewish Faith still associate themselves with one of the original 12 Tribes?

  1. Your question does not have a simple “yes or no” answer to it. Since the dispersion of the Ten Tribes by Sancheriv, approximately two thousand five hundred years ago, it has become extremely difficult to identify which Tribe a person belongs to. If so, it would seem that the answer to your question is no. However, that is not strictly correct. The Tribe of Levi and the Kohanim [Priests] are still able to identify their Tribal status even today. In fact, it is actually very important that they are able to because both the Levites and the Kohanim have a very special place in the hierarchy of Judaism.
