Is there a story about when Moses raised his staff to split the Red Sea that there were twelve different walls of water for each tribe?

  1. The Midrashic texts describe how the Red Sea split into twelve individual paths – one for each Tribe – see Midrash Pirkei d’Rebbi Eliezer chapter 42 and Midrash Shochar Tov chapter 114.

The Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Ta’anit 14 and the Midrash Shochar Tov 1, both talk about three of Korach’s sons who were saved from falling into the depths of the opening because they acknowledged that Moshe was right and they were wrong before the punishment began.
