Answers
The seven-day week has always been the standard method of counting the weeks, and the seventh day of the week has always been the Sabbath (see Genesis 1 and the Kuzari). Rabbi Yonatan Eibshitz writes in his book called Ya’arat Dvash one reason why the Christians changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday: according to the signs of the various planets, Saturday is influenced by the planet Saturn, which is associated with depression and pain.
This means that the Biblical seventh day has always been – and always will be – Saturday. However, the Western World has adopted the Christian week, and they commemorate their day of rest on Sunday.
