Why is Tachanun omitted until the 14th of Sivan?

    The days before Shavuot are without Tachanun due to them being “the three days of hagbalah” – restraint that took place at Har Sinai before Matan Torah. After Shavout more days are without Tachanun due to their being days of Tashlumim – compensatory days when the offering of the Chag could be still be brought in the Beit Hamikdash if the person was unable to do so on the day of Shavuot proper.
