In general, rice is Kosher. However, due to its tendency to become infested with bugs it has to be checked thoroughly before it can be eaten. And steamed in a kosher utensil. Also, any rice that is cooked by a non-Jew is not considered to be Kosher unless it was done so under special supervision.
