Shooting an Iguana

Question

I live in a state that has so many iguanas that it is legally permitted to shoot them. Is it allowed from a torah perspective? No other way is successful in deterring them from going on our property.

    If the iguanas are bothering you and there is no other way of getting them off your property then it is permissible to shoot them. However, it is forbidden to shoot them for sport or for fun.
