Answers
The Shulchan Aruch rules in Orach Chaim 47:13 that if you wake up for the day (i.e. not wake up early and then go back to sleep again), you should recite Birchas HaTorah before you begin studying Torah. Birchas HaShachar (the Morning Brochos) can also be recited, but it is not obligatory to do so. However, the Mishna Berurah writes, ibid 31, that it is preferable to wait to recite the Bracha “Hanosein L’Sechvi Bina” until Alos (dawn).
