Non-Kosher Scroll in Mezuzah

Is it permitted to use a non-kosher scroll in my mezuzah?

    A non-Kosher scroll cannot be used as a Mezuzah. The Mitzvah of Mezuzah is the scroll itself and not the “house” that it sits in. A person does not fulfill the Mitzvah of Mezuzah if the Mezuzah scroll itself is not Kosher. This is so even if a person buys and puts up a beautiful and expensive “house” made out of precious metal.
