Minyan: Nine Plus One

Question

Is it possible to hold a Minyan if 9 Adult Jewish Men are present, and 1 non-Adult (under 13 years of age) Male present?

  1. It is not a simple issue at all and there is significant debate among the Halachic authorities throughout the generations as to whether it is permissible or not. And, if it is permitted, what is actually allowed within davening and what is not is also open to debate.

    However, there are certainly Poskim who permit it (although I would recommend they do their utmost to find a tenth adult to join them rather than rely on a child under Bar Mitzvah), and it is permitted to rely upon on their ruling.
