Answers
As a rule, the Mezuzah should be placed on the right hand side, two thirds of the way up the door frame as one enters the door. Bathroom doorways should not have a Mezuzah.
There is a disagreement in the Shulchan Aruch, Code of Jewish Law, as to the correct positioning for the Mezuzah. Rabbi Yosef Caro rules that the Mezuzah should be placed upright on the doorpost, and the Sephardic custom is to do just that. There is another view, that the Mezuzuah should be placed horizontally on the doorpost. The Ashkenazic custom is to compromise and place it at a slant.
May God Bless you that your house always be a true Jewish home.
