Lag b’Omer

Question

Is lag b’Omer an actual Halacha chiyuv, or minhag? Is it permitted to fast or no on that day? If it falls out motzai Shabbat, is besamim not used due to neshama yesira?

    One does not fast on Lag b’Omer. Those getting married on Lag b’Omer do fast.

    Besamim are used on Motzei Shabbos when it is Lag b’Omer because Lag b’Omer is not a Yom Tov.
