Infinite God
Question
I’m curious how Judaism responds to this argument against the existence of god here in case you do not use youtube, the argument is god is logically impossible under the law of identity, since god is infinite and thus has no identity which means he cannot exist, they say to exist is to exist with identity
Answers
What superficiality and hubris wrapped up as one! God does not exist because we, humans, cannot explain His existence? Their “approach” is actually the answer. The existence of God is beyond human comprehension. That is what makes God, God. If God could be explained and understood in human terms, He would not be God. That is why the very first exposure that we have to God in the Torah is that God creates “Yesh m’Ayin – something from nothing. The very first act of creation is beyond our capabilities to comprehend, and it establishes the fundamental divergence between God human life.
