God’s Love

Question

How do we know God loves us? We say that “since God loves us” we need to have faith in him, the mitzvot are for our good, etc. But how do we know that God loves us-as the premise upon which our actions should then follow?

    The Rabbis teach that one of the most direct methods is by looking at your life and seeing the wondrous things and the miracles that occur on an on-going basis. One of the things that Jews are supposed to do every day is to recite the Morning Blessings – in them we thank God for some of the basic things that we have like the ability to see and the ability to walk. When a person truly understands the delicate infrastructure that is his body he can then begin to reach a new level of appreciation which can lead to a new level of recognition of God’s love.
