Etiquette for Sponsored Kiddush

Question

We’ve been invited to a sponsored kiddush. I’ve never been to one, what is the proper etiquette? Do we make a donation to the sponsoring couple, to the synagogue that is hosting? Thank you in advance.

    I am not really conversant with the correct etiquette for such situations, but I think that the reason for the Kiddush may have some bearing on what the correct thing to do is. Personally, I would suggest that you contact the sponsors (I assume that you have a connection with them) and ask them what the right thing to do is.
