Depilatory Cream When Mourning
I was curious if it is permissible to remove hair with depilatory cream when mourning. The reason is because there is a biblical prohibition against shaving hair (Deuteronomy 14:1) to mourn, but since it is according to many poskim Muttar to use depilatory cream on areas you’d otherwise be forbidden from shaving, does the same principle apply here that the biblical prohibition doesn’t occur since you’re not using an actual razor? Is it the same principle

There is no practical difference between a shaver and depilatory cream – they are both forbidden while mourning. Even if using cream would not be considered shaving (which I do not think is so in this case), there would be a problem of “maris ayin” which would make it forbidden to do.
