COVID: Attending Wedding
If someone becomes sick with covid within a few days before the wedding of a close family member (such as one’s sibling or child), and they are likely contagious and risk spreading it to others at the time of the wedding, would it be permitted to attend the wedding, if the risk of someone there catching it is high, but the risk of someone dying if they catch it is statistically very low?
Answers
Because COVID is not regarded with the same fear as it was, I, Personally, think that, if the person with COVID would have attended the wedding if they had the flu then it would be permissible to attend the wedding. However, as this is such a sensitive issue I would strongly recommend that the person consult with a local authority as to what is the correct thing to do because the answer might differ depending on the way that people relate to COVID in specific locations.
