Children of an Only Child

Question

I know the Gemara says that one should look at the brothers of a girl to know what the children will be like, but what about a girl who is an only child? Who will her kids be like?

    The Talmud is teaching that, very often, the characteristics of children come from the side of the mother. If she has no brothers – or if she is an only child – one might get some insights by looking back one generation.
