Channah: Daughter of Maccabees
I just read what was sent to me as a Midrash Chanuka. It told the story about Matityahu’s daughter Hanna who was getting ready to marry and at her wedding she undressed and scolded her brothers and others for them being more concerned about seeing her naked than worrying about her impending rape by the Greek governor that night, as was custom.
Did this really happen?
Thanks

I do not really know. It is extremely difficult to verify many of the details of the stories that are found about Chanukah. Some of them are true. Others are partially true and have been embellished. And yet others are not true at all. The details of the story that you are asking about sound to me to be somewhat implausible. There is a second version of the same story that has Channah embarrassing her family by dressing up in sackcloth.
