Birkenstocks (Sandals) for Davening

Question

Can a man wear Birkenstocks to davening in shul during the week?

  1. Personally, I feel that there is no problem so long as you are wearing socks. However, I do feel that this is really a question of what is acceptable in the Shul you are davening in. For example, if the accepted custom in a particular Shul is not to wear sandals for davening, it would be incorrect to do so.
