Birkat Erusin and Aramaic

Question

The Talmud in sotah 33a says an Individual prayer should not be in Aramaic, but a communal prayer can be. Is Birkat erusin in the former or latter category?

  1. There is a disagreement among the authorities as to whether Birkas Erusin is categorized as a Brocha of Shevach or a Brocha of Mitzvah. However, it seems to be that it is a Birkas haYochid and not a Birkas haTzibur. In all events, the correct Brocha to recite is in Lashon haKodesh and not Aramaic which makes the issue moot.
