Attending a Sefer Torah Dedication During Shloshim

I am in the Shloshim for my mother. May I attend the Chanukas Sefer Torah ceremony, done in honor of my deceased brother/

  1. I am so terribly, terribly sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept my condolences on the passing of your mother. May Hashem comfort you and your entire family among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

    It is permissible to attend the ceremony but you should not dance with the Sefer Torah. If there is a festive meal after the Sefer Torah has been dedicated, it would be preferable if you did not attend.
