Question
I'm under the impression that Orthodox Jews are taught that the stories are true. However, lately I've been told that the answer to this question is no.

Question
Iyov 26:5 says, "Dead [things] are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof." Resh~Pei~Aleph~Yud~Mem spells "raphayim" and means "dead [things]." Resh~Pei~Aleph spells "rapha" and means "lax, a ghost, shades, spirits, dead, deceased." Would you explain this verse?

Question
I listened to a rabbi on YouTube who sad that usury is wrong. I was surprised to hear that, and it is because of the stereotypical Jewish banker. So I tried to research this, and I came across these Torah verses that forbid Usury: Psalms 15:5, Ezekiel 18:8–9, and Leviticus 25:35–37. However, I came across this from the Yoreh De'ah (a compilation of Jewish laws or halakha - I think is in the Talmud): “It is forbidden to participate in any way in an interest-bearing loan made by one Jew to another (160:1-3), but it is permitted to lend money to a non-Jew at interest (159:1-3).” My question is: Which takes precedent, the Torah or that halakha in the Talmud? If the latter, then it is OK for Jews to lend money to Gentiles with interest (low to payday loan high) even though the written Torah makes it seem like it’s bad to do anyone - both Jew and Gentile?

Question
Psalm 17:13 says, "Arise, O God, disappoint, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is Your sword. Will you explain this? Do the wicked also have an appointed purpose? Isaiah 45:7 says, "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I, God, do all these things."

Question
Hi Rabbi, I read somewhere about the “Oral Law” being part of the Torah. Where did it come from and why is it needed in addition to the written Torah that we have? Thanks in advance.

Question
Psalms 58:3 The wicked are "estranged" from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. Will you explain this? Can a fetus be influenced while in the womb? Was Haman wicked from the womb?

Question
What is the Hebrew translation for Ezekiel 48:15? In the KJV: Ezekiel 48:15 KJV - And the five thousand, that are left in the breadth over against the five and twenty thousand, shall be a profane [place] for the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs: and the city shall be in the midst thereof. Ezekiel 48:16 KJV - And these [shall be] the measures thereof; the north side four thousand and five hundred, and the south side four thousand and five hundred, and on the east side four thousand and five hundred, and the west side four thousand and five hundred. None of the other common translations define this portion of the city as profane, so could you provide me the Hebrew translation of this verse? Based on all of the other translations I checked, it seems this is not only not correct but a huge distortion of an accurate interpretation.

Question
Dear Rabbi, I have been advised by dear friends to consider ways to limit, monitor or completely make it taboo for our young children to watch TV due to immorality and violence found there. But I was thinking: In the same vein, perhaps we should also not read the Torah, since it has so many shocking and immoral acts in it, including violence. Thanks so much for your thoughts on this.
