Question
If God is not a man, who did Abraham feed while he was in his tent in Genesis?

Question
In a technical sense, before its destruction in 70 CE, was the Jerusalem Temple the only proper place to "worship" the LORD? (From what I understand, it was the only acceptable place to offer a sacrifice.) When Jewish people today gather at synagogue, do they gather to "worship," or would it be better to say that it is a time for study and community? Thank you.

Question
The Chabbad site, and the Talmud summary in my local library, tells us that Abraham's birth is similar to Jesus' birth. Both were heralded by stars. In both the astrologers warned the ruler that the impending birth would endanger them, and in both stories the ruler tried to kill the child. The Talmud was written after the birth of Jesus but is supposed to codify earlier beliefs. So which came first? The stories about Abraham's birth or the stories about Jesus' birth? I will be giving a talk about Abraham to groups of non-Jewish people and it would be nice to have some scholarly information.

Question
After the conversion of my grandparent to the Christianity, my family goes to church. I grow up reading the christian new testament. There, orthodox Jews are depicted as evil hypocrites. But when I observe orthodox Jews, all I see is a group of harmless people who love to study Torah and share it with other people! I cannot understand why Jesus said that orthodox Jews are demonic. Why is Christianity so hostile to Judaism?

Question

Question
I am reading a historical novel "The Last Watchman of Old Cairo" by Michael David Lukas. The parts of the story about Solomon Schechter and 2 sisters and the Geniza are true. I think that the rest may be fiction. 1. The characters in the book are looking for the “Ezra Scroll,” described as “a perfect Torah scroll, without flaw or innovation" written by Ezra. Is the Ezra Scroll real? Did Ezra write such a scroll? 2. The last name of the watchman is al-Raqb. The book states that al-Raqb means "he who watches"and it is the 43rd name of G-d. Is there really a 43rd name of G-d? 3. Were there people assigned as watchmen of either the Geniza or the Ibn Ezra Synagogue? Thanks.

Question
A biblically sanctioned death penalty is very hard to carry out due to the large number of conditions that must be met, including two witnesses who warned the violator in advance that his offense is a capital one. Two executions did occur in the Chumash. But were there any other executions performed in accordance with biblical law and carried out by a beit din after that?
