Question
I have always wondered where the necessary elements for the tabernacle came from during the wilderness period: the fine flour for the showbread, the fine oil for the lamps and the ingredients for the holy incense. If G-d need to provide manna and quail for His people to feed them, where did these other items for worship come from?

Question
There were 72 people going to Egypt. In Numbers 3:17 and 26:59 we see that Moses was Levis grand grandchild. The fourth generation. Josef is said to have been 30 years when he entered into power - Genesis 41:46 and 110 years when he died in Genesis 50:22 and saw his grand grandchildren, who probably were those who were in Exodus. In Exodus 12:40 it says that Israel’s children lived in Egypt during 430 years and it says in verse 37 that there were 600,000 men AND women and children. I can’t see they were really in Egypt during 430 years and can’t possible understand how 72 people could turn into, maybe, 1,2 million in FOUR generation - and in 430 years? How do you understand that? (I am a believing Christian who loves to read the bible.)

Question
OS 285 Dear Rabbi, Hi, I am attending a community college in Daytona Beach before I go to Berkeley, and I have a couple questions concerning the angle my humanities teacher takes. He states that there was no great Exodus out of Egypt for the Jews because archaeologists could not find trash in the desert enough for the "supposed" thousands of Jews migrating out from Egypt. He also states that the Jews were not slaves in Egypt. He admits to there being a small caste of Jews that were slaves, but not on the popular belief scale. I am the only Jew in class because he asked any Hebrew to raise their hand and mine was the only one that went up, so I stand alone when I ask him and question him. If you could give me any information about this I would feel better about the subject. These are only a few of the things my teacher has said that has made me anxious and on guard. Thank you.

Question
what percentage of the jews did not follow Moses out of egypt and what happened to them? do we know who they are and are they still considered to be jewish?
