Question
I said to my father who is a devoted christian that Judaism teaches that everything is dereed except good and evil. He replied that God does not intervene in this world except for the salvation. He said that God only intervene in this world when someone who is predestined to go to heaven is in danger of not being saved. So, according to him, only good and evil is in the hand of HaShem, and all other things are up to human being. Is my father wrong? If he is wrong, where is he erred? Thank you.

Question
Dear Rabbi, I’ve read different things about the importance of beauty according to Judaism. It seems that some say it is not important and only one’s inner self has meaning. Others say that physical beauty is also important. Would you please clarify what, if any, importance does Judaism attach to physical beauty? Thanks!

Question
my husband belongs to a club that is co-ed. He hugs other women, goes out to coffee [ in groups but recently with just two women]. He just received a gift from a women....an article of clothing. I have voiced my disapproval. When I asked him to refrain from wearing this gift in my presence he lost his temper......yelling and using fowl language. He then accused me of trying to control him and stormed out the door. I don't think I did or said anything out of line. He is married and should not be cavorting with the opposite sex.....sparsely dressed women. I dont know what to do. I do not have a rabbi....or a community. Any wisdom will be welcome and appreciated. Thank you
