Question
Hi, So I am a relatively 'new' believer in the teachings of Judaism. The journey both into the culture and the faith has been amazing so far. I actually began reading the Talmud and embarked on a journey to study the Torah and Tanakh in fullness as well. Of course, I face questions about my faith of which I have been able to counter many easily with knowledge both from verses of the Torah and Tanakh and parts of the Talmud that I have read. However, recently I was met with the question of Daniel 12:2 and the meaning of 'eternal damnation' whereas I thought Judaism was based off the belief of Gehonnim not being an 'eternal state' of punishment but a place of purification and cleansing in preparation for the new world- in short, not exactly 'a hell'. I have tried searching for myself but so far I am inconclusive. How exactly does Judaism frame Gehonnim especially in light of Daniel 12:2? Or did I have the teachings of the afterlife wrong all-together?

Question
I am confused as to what exactly G-d promised after the flood-- Did G-d promise never to destroy the Earth at all? Or only with water? Because we are awfully close to WW3 (i.e. "nuclear" "war" with Russia and China). and as we all know Russia is Iran's main sponsor. so many (both Jews and Gentiles alike) are predicting that the end will occur as a result of defending Israel against Iran. Personally i am for eliminating the Iranian threat --permanently -- but i am afraid of Russia's response (which --given it's interest in securing the world's oil supplies for China--i would expect to be nuclear. (I mean --isn't there a Moshiach in the house?........anywhere? ) Nu, so tell me B'vaka-sha. Thank you and Shalom (:

Question
Can we earn eternal life by our good works?

Question
"And the people will oppress one another, every one his fellow and every one his neighbor; the youth will be insolent to the elder, and the despised to the honorable." (Isaiah 3:5) As I think that these verse shows the current situation of the world, because I have seen this happen frequently in many places of the earth nowadays - does Isaiah warn us about the future in this verse or did this situation start in the past and still continue?
