Praying Without a Yarmulke

If one recites a prayer while intentionally not wearing a yarmulke, is the prayer still valid?

    While there are Poskim who rule leniently, Rav Moshe Feinstein in Iggros Moshe Orach Chaim 4 Siman 40:14 rules that Tefilah davened with an uncovered head is not valid.
