Jewish Hygene
Question
Dear Rabbi, I work in a Chassidish establishment that has a number of public bathrooms. I am concerned regarding some issues related to personal hygiene. My main concern is that there is no handwashing (with soap) taking place inside or outside of the bathroom. As a matter of fact, there is not even a sink in the bathroom with which to wash ones hands, only one OUTSIDE of the bathroom. Now when the folks come out, they wash their hands with a washing cup but no soap. They then move about the facility and continue to spread germs all over the place. Can you please explain to me how a group of people who is so makpid in every area of life can be so lackadaisical in this very important area of personal hygiene? Thank you, Concerned.
