Question
Employment question: Someone was hired to work for someone (paid with a 1099). He received his monthly check ($5000) and then the boss stopped the check and told him that he wants nothing to do with him and doesn't want to speak about it. The boss seems to be a bit unstable (in the mind, right now). The employee had quit his full-time job for this job. (He was approached by the boss to work for him, he did not go out and seek this job.) There's one thing about firing him - now he has no work. But he can look for work. It is entirely different, and seemingly illegal to withhold wages. Since it was a 1099, i assume he cannot file for unemployment. What legal/ halachic actions can he take at this point to recover the money and even money for the next few weeks, when he is suddenly unemployed. Where can he turn? He is distraught and desperately needs that money. thanks deekras@aol.com

Question
I am invited to a friend's house for Shabbos dinner. Should I still light the Shabbos candles, even though no one will be home?

Question
Many thanks for your info. I will discuss further with my Parents, and we will come to you with more questions no doubt!! Good Shabbos
