When Will I Finally See The Good Things In My Life Again?

I am a Christian pastor. While studing the book of "Luke" a comment in the Bible Study "Genesis to Revelation" makes a comment about men serving men meals. The story is found in Luke 4:35-39. It is about Jesus healing Simon's mother-in-law. After her healing the study comments: "She then does that which is against the law: She serves them (Simon and Jesus). Only men served meals to men on such occasions." Can you tell me what "only men served meals to men on such occasions" means? What are the occasions when men serve men and why is it important? Many Thanks, Myra
