Question
Yesterday I submitted a question about what happens when a kohen's non-Jewish spouse converts. I have found an answer in Rabbi Donin's book "To Be a Jew." I tell you this so you can spend your time on other people's important questions instead of mine, which is now answered. Thank you for any time and trouble you devoted to my inquiry. I think your service is very valuable, so you should feel very good about providing it to people.

Question
In parsha Shemos, Moshe is saved by Baytcha She knows that he is a Hebrew but has a good heart and saves him. How does she get away with keeping him in the palace after he is weaned? Pharoh is so paranoid, that according to the commentary, he even had Egyptian baby boys killed as his "seers" had given him info about a child born during that time period who would be the downfall of pharoh. My other question has to do with Kashrut. Can I buy raisins that do NOT have a hexchar? The only ingredient listed israisins. There are no preservatives or additives listed and they are sun dried raisins? Thanks. Karen karensulli@gmail.com

Question
I am a non-Jew married to a Jew who is a Keohane. I am contemplating conversion to Judaism; but it has been suggested to me that , if I convert, I may do two very bad things to my family: (1) I will damage/destroy my husband's status as Keohane; and (2) my children will be considered outcastes/mamzers (sp?), who could never be Jewish even if they went through a conversion process. Is it true that my converstion could have these very serious negative consequences? Please give your answer in as much detail as possible. I appreciate any gudiance you can give me. Thank you very much.
