Atheism
Question
Hi, I have a question concerning something that is distressing to me and I am wondering if there is a Jewish law concerning it or not. I am a very G-d fearing Jew and I recently had dinner with a friend of a friend who was raised Jewish but is an atheist. She was giving me her reasons why she is an atheist and said that she found great inconsistencies (sp?) with the Torah and that she didn't believe in a "profanity" G-d who was so "profanity" vengeful. I listened respectfully though she knows I do not agree. Now I am terrified that I committed a grave sin by even listening and continuing to talk to her afterwards and not up and walking away. I believe in free speech but I am terrified of being punished. Am I crazy or did I committ a sin?
