Hi! I have a problem. I'm a very religious teenage girl. I used to suffer from anorexia about two years ago, but b'H, pretty much recovered, thank G-d. Honestly, everyone, including my parents and even doctor, think I'm completely back on right track, but deep down, I know that it's not completely so. There are several habits that I still keep, and always and only in secret - no one else knows or suspects a thing. However, that's not really the point here. What I have a problem with, is as follows: ED (eating disorder) is definitely a disease in its own right, I could go on and on about it, You can't just tell a sufferer, ''go eat'' and the disease will disappear - it's a lot lot deeper than that. Well, anyway, many times, even now (as a recovered patient) there are times when I throw out food. I can't help myself. It's just that I know that it's impossible for me to eat that, and I have to get rid of it. This happens pretty often, and I do it with perfectly good food. This bothers me greatly, because of the issur of ba'al taschis. But I can't help it. This is one thing, that I can't reverse. Oh, believe me, I've tried, but no matter what I do, food often ends up in garbage. I don't know what to do. I know that it's a sickness, and am not at all proud or happy (chas v'shalom) about it, but it's still ba'al taschis. Can you help me out here???? oh, please don't get the impression that I'm sliding back into my anorexia phase, honestly, i'm doing quite well in the other aspects. it's just this issue that's been bothering me for a while.....
