I am writing in search for some advice. I was born and raised in an orthodox family. Now, as an adult (I am 23), I have chosen to no longer actively participate in many religious practices, but still consider myself an orthodox Jew. I have been dating a wonderful man with whom I have discussed marriage. His father is Jewish and his mother converted before he was born, although she says she converted in a Reform Temple. He identifies himself as a Jew and was raised as a "Secular-Humanistic Jew" (his terminology). Now that we are seriously considering marriage, I am concerned that we will not be able to find an Orthodox Rabbi to marry us. Please advise on how we could handle this situation. (other than not getting married). Would he need to convert? Thank you in advance.
