Question
Throughout history, the nation of Israel and Judah have been punished for their sins such as the golden calf, idolotry etc Prophets appreared and asked the people for repentence and continue to live in the promised land. My question is why was the nation punished so severely after Titus destroyed Jerusalem. From that time until 1948 the jews were always punished by other nations. What did the nation of Israel do so wrong to have so many years in exile. I have heard Christians say it is because the Jews did not believe that Jesus was the messiah. I find that hard to believe. I have read a substantial amount of history in connection to the historical events prior the 70 CE events and cannot justify such cruelty to the Jewish people. I look forward to your reply Walter

Question
When walking around subway stations in New York, I always see weird people with shirts that say Jews For Jesus handing out crazy pamphlets. If a Jew is for Jesus, aren't they just considered Catholics?

My son is having his Bar Mitzvah on June 16, 2007. His haftorah is Shabbat Rosh Chodesh. What is the closest Shabbat Rosh Chodesh date after April 1, 2010, and also what is the closest Shabbat Rosh Chodesh date after December 19, 2013? It may seem silly, but we are all learning his haftorah together and I'm just thinking about future Bat and Bar Mitzvah dates in the years 2010 and 2013. Thank you! Sincerely, Kim
