Dear Rabbi, I am responsible for scheduling an event at my college to celebrate scholarly achievement. I have held this event on friday evening for several years now and have never heard a suggestion for an alternate evening until recently. A non-jewish person, (like myself), wondered if the friday evening time (6-8:00) would possibly exclude some jewish people. I do not want to schedule a time that would prohibit anyone from attending, especially for religious beliefs or practices. Can you provide some guidance please? Our community is rural western Massachusetts. Thank you.

Hi! I'm in my 9th week of pregnancy. They did not hear a heartbeat at my appointment today. I will go back to the midwife next week. If they do not hear a heartbeat, they will take the baby out. If this happens, is it okay to have genetic testing performed on the fetus?? I'm affiliated with the conservative movement. Thank you, Kristen
