Dear rabbi, I'm adopting a little girl who is four years old. I'm very lucky to have finally found a child that I know I will love unconditionally forever, and give her the attention she has been deprived of all her life...but my beautiful little daughter to be is also severly brain damaged from birth, though despite that fact I am so much looking forward to being her mother and bringing her into my loving observant Jewish home. She had been labled as "profoundly retarded" and my question to you is: Should I convert her even though she may never be able to understand Judaism at all or should I not even bother to convert her?
