hi i am an emergency medical technician at a firehouse. we go on a lot of ambulance calls to help people in need i wanted to know if i am allowed to go on the ambulance also even though its Yom-Kippur. Most of the medic side at the firehouse is jewish so if we dont go there will be a major problem. i know that in yom kippur you are suppose to suffer and going on calls may pass the time by a lot quicker but if we don't respond i dont know who will, i just know that a lot of the jews at the nedic side are going to be responding on yom kippur because they say that although you are suppose to suffer, it is a mitzvah to help others.
