Why do we read the Book of Jonah on Yom Kippur?

Why can't Yom Kippur be on a Friday,do they adjust the date of Rosh Hashana accordingly?

Do nursing mothers need to fast for the Tsom Gedaliah?

I JUST CAME BACK FROM AN AWE INSPIRING GATEWAYS ROSH HASHANA. IT WAS A LOT TO TAKE IN. I LEFT ALL FULL OF INSPIRATION AND INSIGHTS THAT I WANT TO HOLD ONTO. HOW CAN I PRACTICALLY DO THAT? AND IN GENERAL, WHEN GIVEN A BURST OF INSPIRATION, HOW CAN ONE HOLD ONTO THAT FIRE...???

I'm not sure how far your knowledge spans into other religious beliefs, but i decided to give it a shot anyways. So my question is this, in the relgion of Taoism or Daoism as it is sometimes refered to, is the wearing of shoes favored of unfavored and why so? In my passing i've heard it was unfavored to wear shoes so i guess my real question is why?
