If I live in a place without an eruv, is there any way that I could take my baby to shul with me? Eg. baby carrier (the type where he would be sitting as in the pouch of a kangaroo)?

I have two questions about Rosh Hasana customs: 1. As I understand it, the order at the first nite's meal is, Kiddush, hand washing, motzi, and then a piece of apple dipped in honey over which we say the blessing ...prie ha'aytz. Shouldn't the motzi cover the eating of the apple as well? 2. Why don't we bless the month of Tishrei as we do the other months of the year?
