Why is there two calendars? And why are they off by a few days. Can you give me the history of these two calendars? and which one should we keep?

Rabbi, We just has a death in our family, my neice was in her 8th month of pregency and she has a stillborn child fully formed. My question is, in the orthodox relegion our Rabbi said the family should not have gone to funeral, I would think that is the families decision, and that the child could not have a headstone. I would like to know why. He was alive in his mother's womb and had a heartbeat. Could you please answer this question, it was so devasting to our family and friends. The baby boy died September 15th.

My wife and I are expecting our second child and we are deciding upon the name.  My grandmothe ris 89 years old and mentioned to me that she would like to be remembered through this baby.  My wife looked at em and said we cant name it after her she is alive.  What is the official ruling.  We are practicing Jews and have aske dour rabbi and he said that it is ok.  Therefore this is like a second independant opinion.   Thank You,  Moti F

Shalom. I have a question. In Jewish mysticism we know very little about Melchizedek, this name appears just once in the talmud, and few times in Zohar, and no one of these books describes who he is. Do you know something else about him, and his roll in Judaism? Thanks  Yom Tov,  Hayman
