According to Halacha, chalitza has to be seen by a beit din. Therefore, does Halacha allow for chalitza ceremony to happen with the beit din watching via zoom? By that, I mean the widow takes the brother in law’s shoe and does the whole ceremony as required by the Torah, but the people who have to see the ordeal are watching via a live camera like zoom. I could be one of the people tasked with making the decision whether the defendant who has already been convicted of first degree murder will get life in prison without parole or the death penalty. Someone gifted me a colorful tallis. I have seen many of my non-orthodox relatives and friends use tallisim with all kinds of elaborate designs, but among the orthodox, I have only seen them with black or blue stripes. Is a colorful tallis kosher?

Is crashing a wedding forbidden? An acquaintance in my community is getting married? Many people I know are invited, but I am not. I guess they don’t consider me an important enough friend. I want to be there. If I showed up and maybe took the seat of a no-show guest, would I be doing anything wrong?
