Non-Jewish Babysitter on Shabbos

Can I hire a non-Jewish baby-sitter to watch my child on Shabbos? If so, how should this be done?

    It is permissible to hire a non-Jewish babysitter on Shabbos. But it is forbidden to ask the babysitter to do any action that is forbidden for you to do on Shabbos. If possible it would be best to pay the babysitter for babysitting work that includes work that done during the week as well since in that way you are not paying them only for working on Shabbos.
