Noahides Wearing Kippot

Question

Are Noahides permitted to wear kippot? Would it be disrespectful to Jews for Noahides to do so?

From my understanding, kippot aren’t holy objects, so there is no mitzvah against a Gentile using them. And I know that the Torah does not even mention kippot. But I’ve also seen others saying that anything that might make Gentiles be mistaken for Jews is not permitted. So I’m not sure.

  1. There is no prohibition against non-Jews wearing Kippot. However, when wearing a Kippah the non-Jew must be careful not to do anything that is forbidden for a Jew to do – even if it is completely permitted for them to do it – as all those around do not know that the person is not Jewish and they will assume that a Jew is contravening Jewish Law in public, which is a grave sin. So, for example, a non-Jew wearing a Kippah should not go into a non-Kosher restaurant.
