Mixed Seeds on a Farm (“Kilayim”)

Question

I will be moving to a farm. I have read that for best results three different seeds being corn, bean and squash should be planted close together. Are we forbidden to do this?

  1. Firstly, please allow me to wish a Yishuv Kal – that you have an easy move and that you find personal satisfaction working the land.
There is a problem of planting different kinds of seeds together it is called Kilayim and it is a Torah prohibition. There needs to be a gap of one tefach (ten centimeters) between each kind of crop.
