It hurts me to read your questions and contemplate your situation. First, it is extremely thoughtful of you to not to hurt someone else by your choices. Often, I’ve see that those very people who you don’t want to hurt, also love you very much and want the best for you and would do anything to try and help you.
But, beyond that, it is important for you to know that you have a holy soul and a purpose that you will gain great satisfaction from discovering and fulling, with the help of God. A person should focus on their own well-being and happiness – and then may even be in a position to help others as well. And not just refrain from hurting them…
Is there a local Orthodox rabbi in your city? Probably. Please give him a call and explain your situation. There are many resources and solutions that a person who feels troubled cannot see, but can improved and even resolved by the right person or team of people.
If you like, feel free to write us at ask@asktherabbi.org and let us know where you live, and, perhaps we can make a more detailed suggestion for the future.
